Ultra-Low Freezer Maintenance

Most people don’t know that one ultra-low lab freezer can use as much energy a day as a 2000 square foot house. Because of this, preventative maintenance and upkeep of ultra-low freezers are important to their longevity, sample viability, and sustainability. The main ways to ensure that you are utilizing the best practices for freezer maintenance include setting your freezer to -70° C, and conducting preventative maintenance, such as cleaning the gaskets, filters and coils.

These videos provide a step-by-step guide on how to properly clean your ultra-low freezer. If your lab is interested in getting involved in the Freezer Challenge, in search of more resources, or has any further questions, contact [email protected].
