Hi! My name is Sarah Adcock, and I am a fourth-year student pursuing a B.S. in Environmental Health Science with a Certificate of Sustainability. In the spring of 2025, I served as the Site Coordinator for the International Freezer Challenge. Through the efforts of the Green Labs program and UGA researchers, 65 UGA labs participated, resulting in an energy savings of 183,600 kWh per year. Since then, I have shifted my focus to waste diversion, through lab glass rehoming on campus and educating researchers on the importance of lab recycling of various waste streams. I will continue those efforts in the spring of 2026, while also providing support to the other Green Labs staff.
I also work as a Student Assistant for the Parrott Lab in the Center for Applied Genetic Technology, where I do tissue culture with transformed poplar plants and assist with plant transformations. In my free time, I love to run, thrift, and sew!
